MORE PRIMARY PROGRAMS

We enjoyed attending our own ward Primary Sacrament Meeting program a week ago. The theme throughout the church for this year is "I Am A Child of God".

Melanie said "President Monson is our Prophet"

Spencer's class sang "When Jesus Christ was Baptized" instead of talks.

After this meeting we attended NP 1 Sacrament Meeting where Brother and Sister Turner gave a talk

Even though do not live close by most of our grandchildren, some have shared their experience in the Primary Sacrament Program over the phone.

Nate talked about his baptism day and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and grateful his dad had the priesthood to perform this. [what a great big brother and example he is to his four sisters]

Christa talked about Jesus baptism and how Jesus went straightway out of the water and the Holy Ghost descended like a dove and lighting upon Him. [wow, what a great memory]

Little Jenna said "I am a child of God". [oh that she will always remember that]

Sick and Tired!!!!

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF POLITICIAN LYES

We now have lawmakers & judges who go out willfully and intentionally to put upon our statute books legislation which is contrary to the Ten Commandments, and as they do they are sowing seeds of destruction for our nation!

Just take a look at Exodus 20 and also the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 and compare some of our laws today. Some might say we need “freedom of choice”, but when it goes against the laws of God it is no longer freedom, but we are sewing seeds of captivity.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me…and yet there are those who are trying to remove God.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain…in our speech there is irreverence for God.
Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy…do we make the Sabbath Day a day of worship?
Honor thy father and thy mother…and there are those who are trying to destroy traditional marriage.
Thou shalt not kill…and yet we have abortion, and even late term abortion, killing the innocent.
Thou shalt not commit adultery…pornography legalized and we have those who are trying to legalize prostitution. Hollywood has had a negative influence through movies and television.
Thou shalt not steal…this is how we have gotten in the economical mess.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor…politicians and news media continues to do this on a daily basis. Why not just tell what you as a politician plan to do instead of tearing down another?
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors house, wife, manservant, maidservant, ox, ass, anything of thy neighbors…money seems to be the root of all evil in today’s world and some will do anything to have it. Hollywood does a good job on this one as well; instead of having good wholesome family shows that uplift, they instead tear down, using sex and killing in most shows.
If everyone on this earth just lived these commandments and be-attitudes…crime would decrease, economy would improve, morals and values would improve. This is where we will find real JOY and PEACE! " It takes just one…let’s each start today to make CHANGE here in the USA and vote for those who believe in these simple principles that are in front of us today.

We can start in California with a YES vote on Proposition 8 and 4! One more, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself…we love and tolerate those who choose not to keep the commandments, but that does not mean we should change the commandments.

The coworker replied,

God picks you from the patch,
Brings you in and washes all the dirt off of you.
Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new smile face and
Puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.”

This was passed on to us by another pumpkin.
Now it’s your turn to pass it to other pumpkins.
We like this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in our patch.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA

Where has the time gone???? Lisa started her birthday last week with each of her children waking up and first words out of their mouth, "Happy Birthday Mom". That night Dan took the family out to dinner, then this past Saturday she went out with the Clinger's who were also celebrating their birthdays, and again on Sunday we celebrated with the Merrill side.....happy birthday girl!

I had to go outside to finally get this shot of the family...all 15 of us enjoyed a "Mexican" style dinner which is what Lisa wanted. Carnell brought his hometeacher for dinner as well.

The next day Mel and Lisa went on a school field "trip" to the pumpkin farm while I took care of Chelsea. Before Lisa left Chelsea announced that "grandma and I are going on a trip". So after breakfast we went for a walk to Albertson. We first helped a little girl who was lost in the parking lot, then got some animal cookies for later. I told Chelsea she could pick any dessert she wanted to make for family night. She headed right for the brownies and said "chocolate". On the way back home we stopped at Longs for a new decoration for Halloween. Here is Chelsea after she finished making the brownies and they were in the oven. Another activity we did was paste some pictures in a little book and played a couple games. Thanks Chelsea for a great day and a very fun "trip".

We had received a call from Lisa Saturday saying the stove top did not work anymore. So, after helping Carnell with some things, dad started to work on the stove top. He found the problem right away and had it all repaired in just a few minutes....yea, dad! Saving us a tone of money. He cleaned it all up like new.

These kids really do enjoy music.

Hey kids, remember the house on our street that had a tone of rose bushes all over the front yard? Well, this is what the yard looks like with the new owners....and the children have become some of Spencer's favorite friends.

THE DIVINE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE

A YES vote on Proposition 8 protects our freedom and the divine institution of marriage, which has been in existence since the world began with Adam and Eve. It is the no vote that is trying to change the meaning of marriage. Under California law, same sex couples that register as “domestic partners shall have the same rights, protection and benefits as married spouses” (Family Code 297.5). Proposition 8 will not change this…it just won’t be called marriage, and public school teachers would not have to tell children it is the same as marriage.

Voting NO takes away our freedom:
1. Public schools will have to be taught that same-sex marriage is just as good as traditional marriage.
2. Churches may be sued over their tax exemption status if they refuse to allow same-sex marriage ceremonies in their own religious buildings.
3. Religious adoption agencies will be challenged by government agencies to give up their long-held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and father.
4. Private school may be required to provide student housing for same-sex couples, even if counter to church doctrine.
5. Free Speech will be taken away from church leaders & teachers who preach against same-sex marriages.
6. Litigation…the change in the definition of marriage will bring a cascade of lawsuits against those who believe marriage should be between a man and a woman: photographers who refuse to photograph gay marriages, doctors who refuse to perform artificial insemination of gays even when given other willing doctors names; ministers who will not perform same sex marriages, and many more.

Marriage between a man and woman is a sacred institution put into existence by a loving Heavenly Father and is the corner stone of his great plan to bring children into this world. Please join us and many others in voting YES on Proposition 8 and keep traditional marriage safe.
