Always have fun when we go home...

As soon as Spencer gets home from school he starts right in on his homework. He is doing really great this year in school and scouts. Three times friends came to the door...knock, knock..."can Spencer play yet". This is also a motivation to get his homework done. But, wow...he has sooooo much work for only elementary school; reminding me of a saying one mother told a teacher, "you have my child all day to do school work, but when he get's home, he is mine". Don't think the teachers get that concept yet.

These two girls love doing crafts. When Mel got home we found a soda can on the sink and decided to decorate it with hair, hat, clothes...quite an imagination.

I am very excited that we finally figured out how to download pictures from our phone to computer [thanks, Joe] Anyway, we had told Christian that we would take him out for his birthday...and like last year, he already had his mind made up of where and what he wanted to do. So, this time it was I-HOP for a huge chocolate funny face pancake.

The best part is that they are all friends. They communicate by e-mail, telephone, visits, and the most recent is the Wii. They can be in different states and still play games with their cousins, uncles, and aunties.

Scriptures vs. Cell Phones

What would happen if we treated our Scriptures like our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we spent an hour or more using it every day?
What if we used it to reeive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?

This is what I heard on the other end of the phone tonight....yes, little Annika was singing and wanted to sing Grandma a song. Then she continued to tell me about her day, playing with Aiden, her favorite dress up clothes that had butterflies, swimming, reading and coloring in her new book, soup in the cupboard, eating green beans, etc. etc. It is so much fun to hear these cute little voices.

Earlier in the morning we called Steven to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY for his 2nd birthday. He had pancakes with a candle on it for breakfast and watched his favorite "car" movie...and would celebrate later in the day as the family returned home from school, work, sports.

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems,
but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.
