California Supreme Court IGNORES the will of Californians

In March 2000, California voters overwhelmingly approved a state law providing that “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” The California Supreme Court recently reversed this vote of the people. On November 4, 2008, California voters have an opportunity to vote on a proposed amendment to the California State Constitution that will now restore the March 2000 definition of marriage approved by the voters.

Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, and the formation of families is central to the Creator’s plan for His children.

“Neverthless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife and let every woman have her own husband.” 1 Cor 7:2

A warning from latter-day prophets: “…we warn that the disintergration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities fortold by ancient and modern prophets.”

There are several things that we can do to help this amendment pass on the November ballot. First of all be sure we are registered voters and encourage our neighbors, family and friends to do the same. Contribute money and time to this cause. Eighteen other states thus far have voted to amend their constitutions in a similar way.
